About Me

Hi there!

I am honored you are taking the time to learn more about me and my mission.

I am 31 years old and live in Northeast Pennsylvania, but born and raised in New Jersey. Right now I am a full time clinical informatics nurse. That means I am a Registered Nurse but am not practicing at the bedside. I use my extensive nursing knowledge from 10 years of prior bedside experience to help guide analysts in improving our electronic health record systems that nurses and physicians chart in. I work alongside clinicians and help construct how we can make changes to the system to ultimately improve patient safety.

But enough of the boring stuff. What else am I? I am a mother of one- Right now she is almost 2 and going on 20. She is so kind, so curious, so gentle and very smart. She loves anything that has to do with music-whether it be making music or seeing music. Her favorite movie is Monsters Inc, which is cool because by now we have the whole script memorized.

I am a wife- and have been married to my husband- soon to be 5 years this October. We met on eHarmony and I have nothing but good things to say about the service. I can confidently say he is my best friend- first person I want to tell things to and first person I want to see each day.

I am a fur mom to 2 cats and 1 dog who make us feel like we should charge admission into our zoo most days- but alas we love them too.

My passions are many. Besides blogging in my spare time, I love to paint (not well), draw, write novels, cross-stitch, plan my many future ideas, read or indulge in personal development. My dream job (one of many) would have been to work as a Pixar animator. I ultimately love to create- new people, new stories, new worlds, and get lost in them. I love to show emotion and make others feel new feelings through story.

What really gets me out of bed each day though will always be data. Yep, just data. I joke that I could incorporate data analytics into any job I do. I could be a janitor and build a spreadsheet for how we can clean the floors better. I could be a barista and build a spreadsheet analyzing customer behaviors. It is my passion and its the way I understand the world. I love Microsoft Excel, its a second language- but I still have so much to learn. My brain and fingers can glide across the cells as if it's a second home. I know I am a mega-geek (closeted) but hey...It's just my thing. I can make a spreadsheet for just about anything. I thrive on new spreadsheet challenges and formulas. I am studying to be a data scientist with my Masters of Science in Predictive Analytics and hope to graduate by December 2021.

I love to learn new things, and often attempt to learn new languages or new lessons in life. I look up to idols such as Michelle Obama, Reese Witherspoon, Florence Nightingale, Alecia Beth Moore, and many more as examples of who I want to be as a woman and a mother.

I am an enneagram 3w4. If you haven't taken your enneagram test, you should! It's very enlightening. Here is a good one: Enneagram Test

This also means that my greatest fear is not reaching my full potential. To be sitting on my death bed either tomorrow or in 67 years full of regret- regret of why I didn't write the book or learn the thing or whatever. I want to be on that bed and look back with nothing but gratitude and happiness.

I love who I am becoming, in so many aspects. All I have to do is take the next small step. Little by little.

Thank you for coming to learn more about the New Motherboard!
